In Memory OfFF Michael T. Carroll

FF Michael T. Carroll, 39, FDNY, born May 14, 1962, died in the line of duty on September 11, 2001. Less than ten minutes after the first plane hit on 9/11, Carroll’s ladder company arrived at Ground Zero. His team immediately charged into the North Tower to save injured civilians and coordinate an evacuation route. Through hellacious conditions, Carroll climbed to the 35th floor, searching for survivors until the building collapsed at 10:28 a.m. For his service, he was posthumously awarded the FDNY Medal of Honor.
