In Memory OfFF Lawrence J. Thompson

FF Lawrence J. Thompson, 63, NY Rescue Response Team (NYRRT‑1), born November 26, 1959, passed away from 9/11-related cancer on July 11, 2023. Thompson proudly served his community for many years as a Firefighter with NYRRT-1. Shortly after the towers fell on 9/11, his team rushed nearly 150 miles to Ground Zero. For weeks, Thompson worked tirelessly, sifting through the rubble in search of survivors. Twenty-three years later, he became another casualty of the terrorist attack due to prolonged exposure to toxic dust. Rest easy; We have the watch now! Til Valhalla, Brother!
