EMT-P James J. Butler III, 46, Tri-State CareFlight, born in Oklahoma May 18, 1968, passed away in the line of duty on July 17, 2014. Butler was a Base Manager and Flight Nurse for Tri-State CareFlight. While flying to transfer a patient to a hospital in Albuquerque, he passed away when the helicopter crashed after encountering harsh weather. Butler's drive to help others wasn't limited to the sky. He was also an ER Nurse and traveled the world teaching wilderness first aid and search and rescue courses. Rest easy; We have the watch now! Til Valhalla, Brother!
