In Memory OfCSM Timothy A. Bolyard

CSM Timothy A. Bolyard, 42, U.S. Army, born January 15, 1976, was killed in action September 3, 2018. He was Command Sergeant Major of the 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade during Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. In Afghanistan, he spent months educating Afghan National Army and Police forces. While walking to the mess hall with Afghan officials, Bolyard was mortally wounded when two ANP members he had trained opened fire on his group. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and six Bronze Stars, two with “V” devices. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
