CPT Terrance F. Sylvester, 79, U.S. Army, born in Michigan May 4, 1942, passed away on February 5, 2022. Sylvester was an Infantry Unit Commander with 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam. While on a mission in VC territory, his unit was attacked, and the Squad Leader was killed. Sylvester took command and braved enemy fire, directed his men, and called in air and artillery support until the enemy retreated. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart with OLC, the Army Commendation Medal with OLC (one with "V" device), the Bronze Star with OLC (one with "V" device), and the Silver Star. Rest easy, Hero!
