In Memory OfCPT John L. Schrader

CPT John L. Schrader, 78, U.S. Army, born January 24, 1946, passed away on April 15, 2024. Schrader was a Cobra Helicopter Pilot with 158th Assault Helicopter Battalion in Vietnam. While escorting unarmed helicopters on an assault mission, the lead aircraft was shot down. As a steady stream of bullets hit his Cobra, Schrader laid down cover fire for the crashed helicopter, preventing enemy forces from attacking the survivors. For his service, he earned the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
