CPL Yari Mokri, 26, U.S. Army, born in California June 11, 1980, was killed in action on December 6, 2006. Mokri was a Counterintelligence Agent with 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, and deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. While conducting a patrol in Hawijah, the vehicle he was riding in was struck by an IED. Mokri and four of his brothers-in-arms did not survive the blast.
