In Memory OfCpl Warren C. Lloyd

November 24, 1923 - September 17, 1944

Cpl Warren C. Lloyd, 20, U.S.M.C., born November 24, 1923, was killed in action on September 17, 1944. Lloyd served as a Light Weapons Infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in the Pacific Theater of WWII. During the Battle of Peleliu, his unit was tasked with capturing an essential but heavily defended airfield. During the brutal engagement with the Imperial Japanese Army, Lloyd was hit by shrapnel from an enemy mortar and passed away. For his service, he earned two Purple Hearts. Semper
