Cpl & SFC Nicholas K.F. Guard, 34, U.S.M.C., U.S. Army born November 23, 1987, lost the battle within on June 20, 2022. Guard served with 4th Force Reconnaissance Company and deployed to Iraq, where he conducted advanced recon missions to gather critical intel needed to plan combat operations. He then joined the Army and became a Weapons Sergeant with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) and deployed to Afghanistan. There, Guard helped train Afghan security forces in counterinsurgency tactics to combat terrorism and stabilize the region. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
