In Memory OfCPL Michael F. Branin Jr.

CPL Michael F. Branin Jr., 20, U.S. Army, born in January 28, 1948, was killed in action on November 13, 1968. Branin was an Infantryman with 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam. While maintaining area control of a landing zone in Pleiku, NVA forces launched an attack. During the attack, a rocket struck his bunker. Branin was mortally wounded by shrapnel when he threw himself between the blast and two fellow soldiers. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star with "V" device. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
