Cpl Jose A. Galvan, 22, U.S.M.C., born in Texas May 6, 1984, was killed in action
on November 5, 2006. Galvan was a Combat Engineer with 1st Combat Engineer
Battalion, 1st Marine Division, and deployed three times in support of Operation
Iraqi Freedom. While on a combat operation near Fallujah, he was walking in front
of his convoy to clear potential threats when an IED was detonated. Galvan gave
his life protecting his brothers-in-arms from the same fate. For his service, he
earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
