CPL Jimmy L. Shelton, 21, U.S. Army, born in Florida April 15, 1984, was killed in action on December 3, 2005. Shelton served as a Cavalry Scout with 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. There, he was stationed at a forward operating base in Bayji when insurgents attacked his base. Shelton passed away when a mortar round hit the barracks where he was sleeping. For his service, he was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
