In Memory OfCPL Homer L. Gifford

CPL Homer L. Gifford, 96, U.S. Army Air Corps, born July 16, 1926, passed away on September 3, 2022. Gifford was an Airplane and Engine Mechanic with 344th Fighter Squadron in the Aleutian Islands during WWII. There, he maintained his unit's P-38 fighters, which were critical for long-range bomber escort missions in the Pacific Theater. Gifford enjoyed camping, watching his Detroit Tigers play, and was an accomplished HAM radio operator. Above all, he loved going on trips with his family to Agawa Bay in Ontario. Fly high, Airman! Til Valhalla, Brother!
