In Memory OfCPL Cornelius L. Rickert

CPL Cornelius L. Rickert, 18, U.S. Army, born February 12, 1932, was declared MIA on November 30, 1950. Rickert served as a Field Artillery Cannoneer with 38th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division in the Korean War. During the Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River, his unit was providing cover fire for retreating U.N. troops after being attacked by Chinese forces. Amidst the chaotic withdrawal, Rickert's position was overrun by enemy soldiers, and he was never seen again. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
