In Memory OfCpl Christopher J. Lapka

Cpl Christopher J. Lapka, 22, U.S.M.C., born July 13, 1982, was killed in action on October 30, 2004. Lapka was a Rifleman with 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment in Iraq. During a mission in Al Anbar, a platoon of Marines radioed for immediate support. Immediately, he volunteered to help and jumped in a truck. While speeding toward their position, a suicide bomber crashed a white Suburban into their transport truck. Lapka and seven of his fellow Marines perished in the blast. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
