In Memory OfCapt Tamara L. Long-Archuleta

Capt Tamara L. Long-Archuleta, 23, U.S. Air Force, born May 12, 1979, passed away in a helicopter crash on March 23, 2003. Long-Archuleta was an HH-60G Pave Hawk Pilot with 41st Expeditionary Rescue Squadron in Afghanistan. While on a mission to evacuate two wounded children, her helicopter needed to be refueled. During the in- flight refueling operation over mountainous terrain, an unforeseen series of events caused the aircraft to lose altitude and crash, taking the lives of everyone aboard. For her service, she earned a Purple Heart. Fly high, Hero! Til Valhalla, Sister!
