Capt Alvin L. Tidlund, 81, U.S. Army Air Corps, born in South Dakota September
28, 1921, passed away on September 3, 2003. In WWII, Tidlund served aboard a
B-24 with 459th Bomb Group, 758th Bomb Squadron. He flew over 50 missions
and destroyed Axis bridges, depots, and railroads. After the war, Tidlund earned a
law degree and began practicing law. Over the course of his 35-year career, he
became a well-known, highly-regarded attorney and even argued several cases
that were brought before the Missouri Supreme Court. Fly high, Airman! Til
