In Memory OfBT3 David D. Baines

BT3 David D. Baines, 80, U.S. Navy, born June 12, 1943, passed away on March 25, 2024. Baines served as a Boiler Technician aboard the USS Essex (CVS-9) during the Cold War. While at sea, he maintained the carrier's propulsion systems, ensuring that enemy submarines could be tracked and neutralized should tensions with the Soviet Union boil over. Baines was a patriotic man of faith who took great pride in serving our country. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a fiercely loyal friend. Fair winds and following seas, Shipmate! Til Valhalla, Brother!
