Border Patrol Agent Rene G. Moya, 48, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, born June 22, 1969, passed away from cancer on March 7, 2018. Moya served with the Santa Teresa Border Patrol Station as part of a mounted patrol unit. He was tasked with monitoring the New Mexico border for illegal crossings and smuggling in areas inaccessible to most vehicles. Moya was a great horse riding instructor who loved competing in team roping events at rodeos. He was a loving family man who will be missed by all. Rest easy; We have the watch now!
