In Memory Of2LT Jose T. Garcia

2LT Jose T. Garcia, 31, U.S. Army, born in the Philippines on December 25, 1913, was killed in action on January 24, 1945. Garcia was the leader of a Filipino guerrilla unit attached to the 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment in the Pacific Theater of WWII. While pushing north, he fell on the battlefield during a brutal firefight with Japanese forces. Though Garcia did not survive the campaign, the men he led were invaluable and became one of the key factors in the successful liberation of the Philippines. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
