In Memory Of1LT Arsenio B. Martinez

1LT Arsenio B. Martinez, 95, Philippine Army, born December 3, 1910, passed away on July 12, 2006. After Bataan fell in WWII, Martinez joined the 121st Infantry Regiment under USAFIP-NL, serving as a Hospital Physician at a makeshift medical facility deep in the mountains of Luzon. During his unit’s mission to harass Japanese forces, many Filipino and U.S. troops were wounded. Martinez, at his hideaway hospital, provided aid to both guerrillas and Americans, saving countless lives under brutal and resource- starved conditions. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
