A Century of Service: Celebrating the American Legion’s Birthday
Honoring a Legacy of Support for Veterans
For over a century, the American Legion has been a cornerstone of support for Veterans, military families, and communities across the nation. Founded on March 15, 1919, the American Legion was established by World War I Veterans with one goal in mind: to ensure that those who served our country received the recognition, benefits, and community they deserved.
Today, the Legion remains one of the largest and most impactful Veteran service organizations, with over 2 million members dedicated to Veteran advocacy, youth programs, and patriotic initiatives. As we celebrate their 105th birthday, we acknowledge their commitment to those who have worn the uniform and how their legacy continues to inspire generations of Veterans.

A History of Dedication to Veterans and Their Families
The American Legion has played a pivotal role in shaping policies that improve the lives of Veterans and their families. From spearheading the original G.I. Bill, which revolutionized education and homeownership for Veterans, to advocating for mental health resources and PTSD awareness, the Legion has never stopped fighting for those who served.
Their dedication includes:
✔️ Veteran Rehabilitation & Mental Health Support – Providing resources for PTSD, suicide prevention, and therapy
✔️ Community Engagement – Offering scholarships, youth programs, and support for military families
✔️ Legislative Advocacy – Championing policies that protect and benefit those who served
✔️ Memorialization & Remembrance – Ensuring that Fallen Heroes are never forgotten through various initiatives
Organizations like the Til Valhalla Project align closely with the American Legion’s mission, as we too are committed to Honoring the Fallen and supporting struggling Veterans. Our work continues their legacy by delivering memorial plaques to the families of Fallen Heroes and funding Veteran mental health initiatives.

How You Can Show Your Support
The American Legion’s century-long dedication to Veterans is a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in supporting our military community. One of the simplest ways to show gratitude for their service is by educating others, advocating for Veterans, and wearing apparel that spreads awareness.

A Lasting Legacy of Honor
As we reflect on the impact of the American Legion, we are reminded that their work is far from over. Just as they have spent over a century ensuring no Veteran is forgotten, it is up to all of us to carry that legacy forward.
At Til Valhalla Project, we share the commitment to ensuring that every Fallen Hero’s legacy lives on and that no Veteran feels alone in their struggles. Together, we can continue to build a future where Veterans receive the support, recognition, and community they deserve.
Our Mission
Our mission is to Honor Fallen Military and First Responders by surprise-delivering memorials to their families, funded by apparel that motivates, pays tribute, and raises awareness, all while actively donating to reduce Veteran suicide.
