Blake Michael Bankey, 28 of Pueblo, CO, formerly of Metter, Ga, was born on Thursday, April 9, 1992, and passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021.
Blake attended Metter High School in 2011, where he was a four-year member of the JROTC program. He then enlisted with the U.S. Army and passed his training to become a Chemical OPS SP and Specialist. Blake's military service included one year in South Korea, followed by his duty at Fort Carson in Colorado. During his service in the Army, Blake attended Chemical Operations Specialist School and Combat Life Savers CRS. His Medals include Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Serve Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Over Seas Service Ribbon. SPC Blake M. Bankey was honorably discharged in 2016.
After his time in the service, Blake became a Government worker, working at the Pueblo Chemical Depot. He also became a Certified Nurse's Aide. Blake was known for always smiling and willing to give the shirt off of his back to anyone. He was an amazing father to his young children and put them first in all that he did. He always acted selflessly, cared for those around him, and made everybody smile with his quirky personality.
