      Michael proudly served as a military flight medic for 23 years; during his service, he was deployed to Korea, Egypt, Honduras, El Salvador, Iraq, Afghanistan, Alaska, and Hawaii among other stateside posts. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He lived as a devoted soldier, loving husband, generous father, and passionate Razorback fan.
      Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Sherman, Enterprise, AL; daughters, Courtney Denney (Chris) Franklin, GA; Brittany Nitz (Marty) Enterprise, AL; Elizabeth Sherman, Enterprise, AL; son, Matthew Sherman (Lauren) Lawrence, KS; sister, Deanna Bennett (Mike) Hughes, AR; grandchildren, Reese and Reid Denney, Franklin, GA. SFC Michael D Sherman was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Mills-Sherman and Billy Sherman.
