In Memory Of

HN Aaron D. Ullom, 20, U.S. Navy, born in Michigan June 25, 1991, was killed in action on July 12, 2011. Ullom was a Hospitalman attached to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division and deployed to Afghanistan. While on a dismounted patrol in Helmond Province, his unit was ambushed. During the fight, Ullom left his cover and was providing aid to a wounded Marine when he was hit by enemy fire. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and has a memorial bridge named in his honor.
