GySgt Corey L. Kerr, 37, U.S.M.C., born in Illinois June 9, 1985, lost the battle within on June 11, 2022. Kerr was a Rifleman with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, and deployed to Iraq twice. He next deployed to Afghanistan with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment. Kerr saw heavy combat and sustained severe head trauma from an IED blast in the Battle of Sangin. His last gift to this world was donating his brain to research how to protect and treat others affected by a TBI. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla,
