Cpl & MSG Richard K. Pies III, 51, U.S.M.C., Indiana Army National Guard, born in Washington April 6, 1972, passed away from cancer on October 1, 2023. Pies first served in the Marines as an Amphibious Assault Vehicle Repairman. After four years in the Corps, he joined the National Guard, serving as a Vehicle Mechanic, Small Arms Repairer, Operations Sergeant, and deployed to Iraq as a Radar Section Leader. Pies is remembered as a family man of faith with a gung-ho attitude and ability to make people feel like family. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
