AO2 Miguel A. Cortes, 24, U.S. Navy, born April 22, 1999, passed away in a motorcycle accident on August 24, 2023. Cortes was an Aviation Ordnanceman (Aviation Warfare/Surface Warfare) aboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) as part of the 7th Fleet. There, he was tasked with servicing, inspecting, and handling various ordnance for our aircraft. Cortes was a great mentor who knew how to motivate. He lived life by his own motto, "Create a Legacy, Not a Moment," and inspired others to do the same. Fair winds and following seas, Shipmate! Til Valhalla, Brother!
